2월 5일 토요일 아침 7시 반에 모인 이사회에서, 자신이 제안하는 것을 스스로도 이해하지 못하면서 성령의 인도를 따라 순종하자, 바로 다음 날부터 릴레이 기도가 시작되었습니다. “하나님! 에스라 학원을 긍휼히 여겨주소서. 우리 에스라가 하나님의 뜻을 따라 말씀을 통해 한국교회와 선교사님들, 교인들을 섬기는 사명을 잘 감당하길 기도합니다. 신관 부담금 때문에 많은 관계자분들께서 고민하시고 수고해오셨습니다. 주님! 이제는 이 문제를 속히 해결하길 원합니다… 자원하는 심령을 부어주셔서 기쁜 마음으로 헌금하는 많은 사람들을 일으켜주시길 소원합니다. 우리 이사들도 이번 모금을 통해서 성령안에서 사랑으로 하나되는 시간이 되길 기도합니다.” “에스라를 향한 뜨거운 마음으로 시작하게 하시는 하나님, 말씀을 사랑하며 말씀대로 살고 싶어하는 마음들을 에스라에 부르시어 에스라동산이 가득 넘치기를 간절히 바라며 기도합니다. 또한 나의 생명과 내게 주신 것, 은사와 능력과 물질을 에스라를 돕는 일에 쓰는 마음을 … 주시기를 간절히 기도합니다.”

“에스라의 주인이자 우리 삶의 중심 되시는 사랑의 하나님 아버지, 새 날을 허락해주시고 믿음의 기도로 오늘 하루를 시작하게 하심에 감사를 드립니다. 신실하신 언약의 하나님께서 이미 계획하시고 또 뜻하신 바가 있으시어 고 백 정란 전 이사장을 통해 에스라를 허락하셨고 지난 25년간 수많은 크고 작은 역경에도 불구하고 눈동자같이 지켜 주셨음을 감사드립니다. 그리고 하나님께서 허락하신 귀한 에스라를 열심을 다하여 그리고 하나님 보시기에 충분히 지키지 못했음을 먼저 회개합니다. 하나님을 향한 죄송한 마음과 또 어린아이 같은 순수한 믿음으로 에스라의 신관개발부담금의 재원 마련을 위하여 저희 모두가 에스라를 지키고자 합심하여 기도하고 행동하게 하심을 감사드립니다. 이번 계기를 통하여 에스라 가족 구성원 모두가 주님의 사랑 안에서 하나되게 하시고 초심으로 돌아가 에스라를 향한 뜨거운 사랑의 마음을 품는 귀한 시간 되길 간구합니다… 에스라를 향한 놀라운 계획하심을 설레는 마음으로 믿고 기대하며 이 모든 말씀 지금도 살아서 역사하시는 우리 주 예수그리스도 이름으로 기도합니다.” 무엇보다 감사하는 것은 기도가 계속되게 하시고, 기도가 단톡에 올라올 때마다 뒤따르는 아멘의 화답입니다. “아멘” “아멘!” “아멘 아멘” “아멘~~” “아멘!” “아멘^^ 아멘~~” “아멘????” “아멘! 주님의 뜻을 이루소서”
At the Board of Trustees meeting gathered at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 5th, when an obedient proposal was put forward under the guidance of the Holy Spirit—without fully comprehending what was being proposed—a prayer relay began the very next day. “O God! Have mercy on the Ezra foundation. We pray that our Ezra faithfully fulfills its calling to serve the Korean church, missionaries, and believers through the Word according to God’s will. So many related staff and leaders have carried deep concerns and laboured hard over the levies for the new building. Lord! We earnestly desire to see this matter resolved swiftly. . . Pour out a willing spirit and raise up many who will give joyfully. We pray that through this fundraising effort, our board members may also be united as one in love within the Holy Spirit.” “O God, who stirs our hearts with a burning passion for Ezra, we earnestly pray that You call to Ezra those who love the Word and desire to live according to it, so that the Ezra campus may overflow. Furthermore, we earnestly pray that You grant us a heart to dedicate our lives, the gifts, abilities, and resources You have given us, toward the work of helping Ezra. . .”
“Gracious God, thank You. Remembering Your great mercy, we desire to become people of mercy ourselves. First of all, we thank You that God is with us in the remarkable transformation taking place in the Board of Trustees. . . . Rather than words of anxiety and negativity, grant strength and wisdom to the earnest hands of so many who truly love Ezra, so that we may rebuild it into a community pleasing in God’s sight.” “Loving God our Father, as You said that unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it produces many seeds . . . thank You for making us the Ezra family striving to live as true disciples of the Lord. . . Lord, knowing all of Ezra's circumstances, guide us along a good path and work so that the necessary financial resources are well provided in the manner the Lord desires. . .” “. . . Though there have been many hardships, both great and small, since Ezra’s founding, we praise the God of Ebenezer who has carried us through every trial by God’s grace and guided us this far. Looking upon that wondrous God, we look at the challenge placed before us and petition the God who is greater than any problem. . . “Loving God our Father, Owner of Ezra and the center of our lives, thank You for granting us a new day and allowing us to begin this day with prayers of faith. We give thanks that the faithful God of the covenant, having already planned and purposed, granted us Ezra through the late former Board Chairwoman Jeong-ran Baek, and has kept it like the apple of Your eye over the past 25 years despite numerous adversities, great and small. And we first repent that we have not dedicated ourselves fully to protect this precious Ezra granted by God, falling short in God’s sight. With contrite hearts before God and with the pure faith of little children, we thank You for leading us all to pray and act with one accord to protect Ezra by securing the funds needed for the new building's development levy. Through this occasion, we earnestly pray that every member of the Ezra family becomes united in the Lord’s love, returning to our first love and cherishing a burning affection for Ezra. . . By die Raad van Trustees-vergadering wat op Saterdagoggend 5 Februarie om 7:30 byeengekom het, toe iemand in gehoorsaamheid onder leiding van die Heilige Gees 'n voorstel gemaak het sonder om self heeltemal te begryp wat voorgestel word, het 'n deurlopende gebedsketting reeds die volgende dag begin. “O God! Wees die Ezra-stigting barmhartig. Ons bid dat ons Ezra sy roeping getrou sal vervul om die Koreaanse kerk, sendelinge en gelowiges deur die Woord te dien volgens God se wil. Soveel betrokke persone en leiers het diep bekommernisse gedra en hard gearbei oor die ontwikkelingsheffings vir die nuwe gebou. Here! Ons begeer vurig dat hierdie saak spoedig opgelos mag word. . . Stort ’n gewillige gees uit en verwek baie mense wat met vreugde in hul harte sal bydra. Ons bid dat ons raadslede deur hierdie fondsinsameling ook in liefde verenig sal word binne die Heilige Gees.” “O God, wat ons harte met ’n vurige liefde vir Ezra aan die brand steek, ons bid vurig dat U diegene wat die Woord liefhet en daarvolgens wil lewe, na Ezra sal roep sodat die Ezra-kampus sal oorloop. Eerstens dank ons U dat God teenwoordig is in die merkwaardige verandering binne die Raad van Trustees. . . . Gee krag en wysheid aan die dringende hande van soveel mense wat Ezra opreg liefhet, eerder as woorde van kommer en negatiwiteit, sodat U ons weer kan opbou tot ’n gemeenskap wat goed is in God se oë.” “Liefdevolle God en Vader, soos U gesê het dat as ’n koringkorrel nie in die grond val en sterf nie, dit alleen bly, maar as dit sterf, dra dit baie vrug . . . dankie dat U ons ’n Ezra-familie maak wat daarna streef om ware dissipels van die Here te wees. . . Here, wat al Ezra se omstandighede ken, lei ons op ’n goeie weg en bewerk dat die nodige bronne op die wyse wat die Here verlang, voorsien mag word. . .” “. . . Alhoewel daar sedert die opening van Ezra baie beproewinge was, groot en klein, loof ons die God van Ebenhaeser wat ons deur elke beproewing deur God se genade gedra en tot hier gelei het. Terwyl ons op daardie wonderbaarlike God kyk, aanskou ons nou die kwessie voor ons en pleit ons by die God wat groter as enige probleem is. . . Ons vurige bede is. . . dat ons die voorloperwater mag wees wat hierdie werk eerste aan die gang sit.”
“O God, wat daagliks die nodige voedsel laat neerdaal het toe Israel deur die woestyn getrek het, voorsien vandag in ons behoeftes . . . Ons dank U dat U die harte van ons raadslede in hierdie saak verenig het. Laat ons nie alleen wandel in ons planne nie, maar ons bid dat God ons voetstappe reg en goed sal rig (Spr 16:9). “Liefdevolle God en Vader, Eienaar van Ezra en middelpunt van ons lewe, ons dank U dat U ons ’n nuwe dag geskenk het en ons toelaat om vandag met ’n geloofsgebed te begin. Ons dank U dat die getroue God van die verbond, wat reeds beplan en bestem het, Ezra deur wyle voormalige Raadsvoorsitster Jeong-ran Baek geskenk het en dit die afgelope 25 jaar soos 'n oogappel bewaar het ten spyte van tallose teëspoede, groot en klein. En ons bely eerstens ons skuld dat ons nie hierdie kosbare Ezra wat God geskenk het, met volle ywer en op 'n wyse wat vir God genoegsaam is, bewaar het nie. Met berouvolle harte voor God en met die suiwer geloof van ’n klein kindjie, dank ons U dat U ons almal beweeg het om eendragtig te bid en op te tree om Ezra te beskerm deur die middele vir die nuwe gebou se ontwikkelingsheffings byeen te bring. Deur hierdie geleentheid bid ons vurig dat elke lid van die Ezra-familie in die Here se liefde verenig sal word, sal terugkeer na die eerste liefde en ’n vurige hart vir Ezra sal koester. . .
