그동안 10대들의 둥지 사무국장으로 수고한 조휘용 목사님께서 주일 낮 예배 시간에 말씀을 전하는 <청소년 주일>로 울산교회는 지키고 있습니다. 사실 조 목사님은 그동안 섬기던 고등부와 10대들의 둥지 사역에서 2공동체를 섬기는 자리로 옮겨왔는데도 후임이 정해지질 않아서 아직 도 완전히 이전 사역에서 손을 떼지 못한 채로 새로운 사역을 시작했습니다. 그래서 오늘도 주일 말씀 사역을 하게 되었습니다.
울산 10대들의 잔치, 틴즈 페스티벌은 전국에서 가장 오래 지속되고 있는 도시단위 청소년 축제입니다. 12회의 역사를 통해 울산지역 청소년들이 함께할 수 있는 문화 조성과 복음전도에 앞장서 왔고, 청소년들의 비전과 교회연합에 큰 역할을 감당해왔습니다. 12회 동안 발전해 오면서 청소년들이 점차 행사의 중심을 담당해 왔으며, 올해는 더 많은 역할을 청소년 준비위원들이 맡아서 기획, 준비, 홍보, 운영을 담당하여 청소년들이 주인이 되어 청소년들을 섬기고 함께 문화를 만들어가는 행사로 발전하였습니다.
올해 제12회 울산 틴즈 페스티벌은 6월 9일 2시(본 행사 7시)에 갖습니다. 먼저 오후 2시에는 틴즈 뮤직 페스티벌, 4시에는 학교, 교회, 글로벌 부스가 펼쳐지고 오후 7시에는 본 행사가 열립니다. 청소년들을 위한 게스트로는 비와이, 옥상달빛이 결정되었으며 장소는 태화강 둔치(남구 공항버스터미널 앞)로 예정하고 있습니다. 그리고 이 잔치를 앞두고 <40 일 청소년 아침 기도회>가 지난 월요일 4월 30일부터 시작되어 당일 아침까지 진행됩니다. 잔치를 바로 앞둔 ‘준비 집회’ 역시 6월 2일 울산교회 예배당에서 가집니다. 그리고 잔치가 끝나면 해단식 및 학교동아리 발대식을 6월 24일에 가짐으로 또 다른 출발을 합니다.
기도해 주실 일은 이번에 처음 울산지역 다문화 가정 청소년들과 함께 하고자 <글로벌존>이 운영되는데 잘 정착할 수 있도록, 그리고 학교 기독교 동아리 재건단계에 있는 35개 학교가 활기차게 일어나고 이에 멈추지 않고 광역시 117개 학교 모두에 기도모임이 생길 수 있도록, 꼭 기도해 주십시오. 그리고 물질로 후원해 주십시오. 한 도시에서 열두 번이나 이런 대회를 해왔다는 것은 성도님들의 기도의 지원과 물질의 헌신 때문입니다. 아직은 수입이 없는 십대 청소년을 위한 잔치를 펼치기 위해서는 아무래도 어른들의 도움이 있어야 한다는 것을 모두가 수긍할 것입니다. 이 일에 작년에는 50만원부터 1천만원에 이르는 이사들의 후원과 여러 교회와 단체의 참여가 있었고, 특히 1만원부터 200만원에 이르는 많은 울산교회 개인후원자들이 있었습니다. 함께 하면 아름다운 꽃을 올해도 피울 수 있습니다. 후원약정서에 이름과 전화번호를 남기면 609 틴스페스티벌에 동참할 수 있습니다. 해마다 함께 하는 여러분들이 있어 행복하고 또한 감사합니다.
Today, Ulsan Church observes Youth Sunday, welcoming Pastor Hwi-yong Cho—who has served faithfully as the executive director of Teens' Nest—to deliver the message during our daytime worship service. Although Pastor Cho recently transitioned from his role in the high school department and Teens' Nest ministry to serve our Second Community, his successor has not yet been appointed. Consequently, he began his new ministry before fully stepping away from his previous responsibilities. That is also why he is sharing God's Word with us today.
The Ulsan Teens Festival is the longest-running city-wide youth festival in the nation. Over its twelve-year history, it has led the way in fostering a shared culture and evangelizing the youth of Ulsan, playing a vital role in imparting vision to teenagers and uniting local churches. Throughout these twelve iterations, our youth have increasingly become the heart of the event. This year, youth preparation committee members have taken on even greater roles—leading the planning, preparation, promotion, and operation—transforming the festival into an initiative where youth take ownership, serve their peers, and build a vibrant culture together.
The 12th Ulsan Teens Festival will take place on June 9, starting at 2:00 PM (with the main event at 7:00 PM). It will kick off at 2:00 PM with the Teens Music Festival, followed by school, church, and global booths at 4:00 PM, leading into the main event at 7:00 PM. Guest artists BewhY and Rooftop Moonlight (OKDAL) have been confirmed to perform, and the festival will be held along the Taehwa River bank (across from the Nam-gu Airport Bus Terminal). In preparation for this celebration, a “40-Day Youth Morning Prayer Meeting” began last Monday, April 30, and will run through the morning of the festival. A preparatory gathering will also be held in the sanctuary of Ulsan Church on June 2. Once the festivities conclude, a closing ceremony and the launch of Christian school clubs will take place on June 24, marking yet another fresh beginning.
Please pray for this festival. First, pray that the newly introduced "Global Zone"—created to warmly embrace youth from multicultural families in the Ulsan region—will settle in smoothly. Pray also that the Christian clubs currently undergoing revitalization across thirty-five schools will rise up with renewed vigor, and that prayer meetings will ignite not only there, but in all 117 schools across the metropolitan city. Furthermore, we invite you to support this ministry financially. The fact that a city-wide gathering like this has been sustained twelve times is entirely due to the prayerful support and sacrificial giving of our congregation. Everyone recognizes that hosting a feast for teenagers who do not yet earn their own income requires the generous support of adults. Last year, board members gave contributions ranging from 500,000 to 10 million KRW, and numerous churches and organizations took part; above all, many individual sponsors from Ulsan Church gave faithfully, offering amounts from 10,000 to 2 million KRW. When we come together, we can bring forth beautiful blossoms once again this year. You can join the 609 Teens Festival simply by leaving your name and phone number on a pledge card. Having you walk alongside us year after year brings such joy, and I am deeply grateful.
Vandag onderhou Ulsan Gemeente Jeugsondag, met ds. Hwi-yong Cho—wat lank getrou gedien het as uitvoerende direkteur van Tieners se Nes—wat die Woord tydens die oggenddiens bedien. Hoewel ds. Cho onlangs van sy bediening in die hoërskoolafdeling en Tieners se Nes na die Tweede Gemeenskap oorgeplaas is, is sy opvolger nog nie aangewys nie. Gevolglik het hy sy nuwe bediening begin sonder dat hy sy vorige pligte heeltemal kon neerlê. Dit is ook waarom hy vandag die Woord van die Here aan ons verkondig.
Die Ulsan Tienerfees is die jeugfees op stedelike vlak wat landswyd die langste aaneenlopend aangebied word. Oor die verloop van twaalf byeenkomste het dit die leiding geneem om 'n gesonde kultuur vir Ulsan se jeug te skep, die evangelie te verkondig, 'n lewende visie by tieners tuis te bring en kerk-eenheid te bevorder. Deur die jare heen het die jeug toenemend die kern van hierdie byeenkoms geword. Vanjaar het die jeugreëlingskomitee selfs groter verantwoordelikheid aanvaar vir die beplanning, voorbereiding, bemarking en uitvoering, sodat die tieners self eienaarskap neem om mekaar te dien en saam 'n nuwe kultuur te bou.
Vanjaar se 12de Ulsan Tienerfees vind plaas op 9 Junie vanaf 14:00 (met die hoofbyeenkoms om 19:00). Dit begin om 14:00 met die Tiener Musiekfees, gevolg deur skool-, kerk- en wêreldstalletjies om 16:00, en die hoofprogram om 19:00. Die gaskunstenaars BewhY en Rooftop Moonlight (OKDAL) is reeds bevestig, en die fees sal langs die walle van die Taehwa-rivier plaasvind (oorkant die Nam-gu Lughawebusterminaal). Ter voorbereiding vir hierdie groot fees het 'n "40-Dae Jeug Oggendgebed" verlede Maandag, 30 April, begin en duur dit tot die oggend van die fees self. 'n Voorbereidingsbyeenkoms word ook op 2 Junie in die kerkgebou van Ulsan Gemeente gehou. Ná afloop van die fees volg 'n afsluiting en die bekendstelling van skoolverenigings op 24 Junie, wat die begin van nog 'n nuwe hoofstuk sal wees.
Ons vra u hartlike voorbidding: bid dat die nuutgestigte "Globale Sone", wat vanjaar die eerste keer geloods word om tieners uit multikulturele gesinne in Ulsan te verwelkom, stewig posvat. Bid ook dat die Christelike skoolverenigings wat tans in vyf-en-dertig skole herleef, met krag sal opstaan, en dat daar nie net daar nie, maar in al 117 skole regoor die metropool gereelde gebedsgroepe sal ontstaan. Ondersteun asseblief hierdie werk ook finansieel. Dat 'n fees van hierdie omvang al twaalf keer in een stad kon plaasvind, is louter te danke aan ons lidmate se biddende ondersteuning en vrygewige offergawes. Almal besef immers dat 'n fees vir tieners, wat nog geen eie inkomste het nie, slegs met die hulp van volwassenes moontlik gemaak kan word. Verlede jaar was daar ruim bydraes van 500 000 tot 10 miljoen KRW deur direkteure, tesame met die deelname van verskeie kerke en instansies, en talle individuele lidmate van Ulsan Gemeente wat tussen 10 000 en 2 miljoen KRW geskenk het. As ons saamstaan, kan ons ook vanjaar weer pragtige blomme laat oopgaan. U kan by die 609 Tienerfees aansluit deur u naam en telefoonnommer op 'n skenkingsvorm in te vul. Om jaar na jaar hierdie pad saam met u te loop, bring ware vreugde en opregte dankbaarheid.
